Meet our President
Welcome to Falcon Fastening Solutions
Thank you for visiting our site to learn more about us. We are fully committed to supporting United States manufacturing by providing cost effective products and services. Our staff embraces this purpose in all that they do.
We started business in 1979, when Bruce Roberts planted industrial distribution roots in the heart of the Carolinas; Charlotte, NC. A raptor enthusiast, Roberts named the company Falcon Metal Corporation after the Peregrine Falcon, the fastest bird of prey.
The initial purpose of the company was to be a resource for fasteners and related products, but Bruce eventually recognized a recurring problem amongst customers’ manufacturing facilities. These OEM customers were facing challenges managing their high-volume C class production components. This resulted in lost production, higher cost and low efficiency in their plants.
I knew Bruce from our involvement in the National Fastener Distribution Association (NFDA) over the years. We discussed these challenges and his vision for the company. With a career-long history in industrial fastener distribution, (17 years with Kar Products of Illinois and a partner and President of Hoyt Fastener from 1987 – 1997) I joined Falcon in 1997 as a partner and took charge of this new area of inventory management services. When Bruce retired in 2008, I became the sole owner.
Our focus on developing cost effective inventory management programs for our OEM customers has resulted in customer relationships that account for the bulk of Falcon’s business. We shifted from a mere supplier to a partner who assists our customers in profitably growing their business. We manage the “nuisance items” so they can focus their time and attention to achieve the best return for their organization.
We continue to expand our footprint, adding two customer-focused branches and acquiring Kentucky-based C&M Solutions in 2009. In the past decade, Falcon has grown in both revenue and staff and continues to invest in training its’ staff in Lean Principles as well as technology and operations. We are very fortunate to have an experienced staff focused on meeting the goals of our customers. Pure and simple, our over-riding goal is to: “never shut you down.”
